Dr. Angela Harney has grown up in the Fort Myers area since the age of thirteen, and is strongly rooted here. After graduating with top honors from Mariner High, Dr. Harney attended the University of Florida, receiving a Bachelors of Science in Zoology. Dr. Harney went on to study at the University of Florida College of Dentistry, where she earned her Doctorate of Dental Medicine, graduating magna cum laude-"with great praise". Dr. Harney was also invited to become a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon, a prestigious, invitation only, National Dental Honor Society.
After graduation, Dr. Harney returned to Southwest Florida, and currently practices in her hometown of Fort Myers. Dr. Harney is committed to achieving clinical excellence, and is constantly attending continuing education courses that keep her up to date on new products and techniques, in order to offer her patients the best and most innovative care available.
Dr. Harney is a member of the Gulf Coast Interdisciplinary Network- a study club that includes several General Dentists and specialists from many fields of dentistry including Endodontics, Periodontics, Oral Surgery and Orthodontics. The group meets monthly to discuss various cases and to learn about new technologies and treatments.
Dr. Harney is also a member of another local study club--the Perio-Prosthesis Implant Study Club. This club is made up of many local dentists and periodontists who come together to learn about the latest trends in periodontics, implantology, and other specialized treatments available to patients.
Dr. Harney's professional affiliations include the Florida Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association, the Lee County Dental Society, and the International Team for Implantology.
During her time away from the office, Dr. Harney enjoys spending quality time with her two dogs, Lexie and Anastasia.
